What is
Alicia?
Alicia and the Kingdom of Starlight is an independently made animated film, written and directed by Rhapsody Starlet of Pinkiemachine Studios, with the help of her sister, friends, and countless wonderful volunteers. The film is inspired by other great animated films, and the goal of making it is to hopefully bring a little magic back into the world.
The story of the film follows seventeen-year-old Alicia as she tries to juggle the weight of losing her father, caring for her family and aging grandfather, and the possibility of experiencing another huge loss in her life. Despite it all she tries to maintain an upbeat, optimistic attitude, until one fateful day when she loses her way. It will take the help of a mysterious Star Child named Aster to save her from falling into despair. Along the way, they make new friends and new enemies, face countless dangers, and they just might discover that love is the most powerful magic of all.

How far along in production is it?
We have been working on this film for over a year now! In that time, we've finished writing the script, onboarded voice actors and musicians, and have been working tirelessly on creating the storyboards for the film.
Our plan is---if nothing else---to finish all the storyboards and deliver the film that way. If we can manage to attract some animators to the project, my dream is that we will be able to fully animate this film in traditional hand-drawn animation! But, there's no guarantee that this will happen, so we'll just have to see.
Ideally, I'd love to have at least most of the storyboards finished by this time next year, but that also depends on how many volunteers we can get, which brings me to...

We are currently in need of more concept artists (particularly for complex and whimsical locations), storyboard artists, and background artists! We have a lot of talent on our team already, but we need much more if we plan on finishing this movie as soon as possible so that the fans can watch and enjoy it!
